The Adult Critical Care Unit at Iowa Methodist Medical Center has received a silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence. The award, presented by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, recognizes caregivers who successfully improve patient outcomes and align practices with the association’s six Healthy Work Environment Standards. Units that achieve this three-year, three-level award with a gold, silver or bronze designation meet national criteria consistent with Magnet Recognition, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the National Quality Healthcare Award. “We are proud of the work done by our critical care team at Iowa Methodist Medical Center,” said David Stark, president and CEO of UnityPoint Health-Des Moines. “They continue to raise the bar for patient care, and we are honored to receive the Beacon Award.”
