The Iowa Motor Truck Association has installed a lighted sculpture at the entrance to its East Village headquarters to signify the importance of the trucking industry and its drivers.
The Iowa Motor Truck Association has installed a lighted sculpture at the entrance to its East Village headquarters to signify the importance of the trucking industry and its drivers. The steering wheel-shaped sculpture at 717 E. Court Ave., “Delivering the World,” was created by Des Moines sculptor John Brommel. It was commissioned by IMTA board member Jackie Johnsrud to honor her father, Leon Johnsrud, founder of Johnsrud Trucking. “The sculpture takes on a life of its own during the day and especially at night when all the special lighting effects can be seen,” said Jackie Johnsrud.
