The Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation and New York Agriculture in the Classroom have launched “Outstanding in Their Field,” a podcast focused on teachers who are creatively teaching and inspiring their students in food and agriculture topics. Hosted by the Iowa and New York organizations’ directors — Will Fett and Katie Carpenter — the podcast will feature educators as well as agriculture industry experts discussing the technology of modern food production. The first season will take listeners to the rooftop farms of New York City, to the fertile fields of corn and soybeans in Iowa, into the milking parlor of an upstate New York dairy farm, and onto the pasture of a cow calf operation, with many stops in between.
