Iowa prisons name new security director in wake of Anamosa penitentiary slayings
Des Moines Register: Seeking to improve prison safety after the March slayings of two employees at Anamosa State Penitentiary, Iowa Department of Corrections Director Beth Skinner announced today she is hiring a statewide security operations director who currently holds a similar position in Wisconsin. Brian Foster is slated to begin his new role May 24. Meeting with the state Board of Corrections for the first time since the March 23 killings, Skinner said the hiring is one of a list of security changes taking place.
