Iowa rated as one of country’s best-run states
Iowa is the fifth-best-run state in the nation, according to an economic ranking compiled by the website Wall Street 24/7.
The investment website looked at economic indicators, including debt per capita, state budget deficit, unemployment, median household income and the percentage of citizens living in poverty, for all 50 states to create its annual ranking.
The four states ahead of Iowa were: North Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska and Utah. The ranking said Iowa’s farm economy has contributed to its growth.
The worst-run states according to the website are Nevada, New Jersey, Arizona, Illinois and Rhode Island.
