MakUSafe had advanced to the national competition after being judged in the Chicago regional semifinals. The ACORD InsurTech Innovation Challenge Finals was hosted by Brian Hemesath, a Des Moines entrepreneur and the former managing director of Global Insurance Accelerator. The 2019 Innovation Challenge awarded $75,000 worth of prizes to insurtech startups.
