Iowa to increase jobless and injury benefits

Maximum weekly benefits paid to jobless Iowans or those injured on the job will increase on July 1, Iowa Workforce Development announced. The new benefit payment schedules apply to Iowans who are injured or file new unemployment insurance claims on or after July 1. The average annual wage for insured Iowa workers increased to $45,877.31 in 2017, up from $44,722.93 in 2016.
