In her new role, Hackel will oversee daily operations, lead internal teams and manage the foundation’s fundraising and development efforts. Hackel most recently served as general counsel at the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals and Licensing. She played a role in implementing Gov. Kim Reynolds’ agency reorganization and consolidation efforts, which had the goal of reducing licensing burdens, improving regulatory efficiency and making the government more pragmatic and responsive. Iowans for Tax Relief Foundation is a nonprofit founded in 1982 that promotes limited government, free enterprise and personal responsibility.
