Iowans in Congress ask EPA for hearings on lower ethanol blends
All six members of Iowa’s congressional delegation on Monday asked the Environmental Protection Agency to schedule a hearing in Iowa on the agency’s recent proposal lowering the ratio of ethanol to be blended into the gasoline supply through next year. Iowa produced more than a quarter of the nation’s ethanol last year and the state relies heavily ethanol and biodiesel production to create jobs, increase commodity prices and boost rural economies, reports DesMoinesRegister.com.
