Protesters surrounded the West Des Moines office of General Dynamics Information Technology on Monday morning, speaking out against the company’s contracts with the federal government to provide casework for unaccompanied minors, the Des Moines Register reports. GDIT is a global aerospace and defense company contracted to provide casework services for nearly 2,300 migrant children separated from their families under the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy on immigrants who cross the border illegally; nearly 50 people attended the protest. “General Dynamics had no role in the separation of children and families, nor does it have a role in the construction or operation of detention facilities or shelters,” GDIT’s West Des Moines branch said in a statement.
