Six Iowa apprentices won awards at the National Craft Championships competition hosted by Associated Builders and Contractors. Bringing home medals in the field of 200 were:

• Eli Hoyt of ACI Mechanical Inc. in Ames placed first in the plumbing competition and also received a safety award.
• Michael Jensen of Camblin Mechanical Inc. in Atlantic placed first in the HVAC competition.
• John Primakov of Primo Heating & Cooling in Indianola placed second in the sheet metal competition and also received a safety award.
• Kris Froehle of Insulation Contractor Services in Cambridge placed second in the insulation competition.
• Dustin Froehle of Insulation Contractor Services in Cambridge placed third in the insulation competition.
• Elijah Allison of Interstates Cos. in Sioux Center received a safety award in instrumentation.
