Iowa’s business condition index rises
Iowa’s Mid-American Business Conditions index rose to 56.9 in February from 54.8 in January, Creighton University reported. Anything over 50 suggests growth. New orders were at 55.5; production or sales, 52.2; delivery lead time, 50.9; employment, 58.9; and inventories, 56.3. The region’s index hit the highest level since September, rising to 57.9 last month from 56.0 in January. The September figure was 57.5. Creighton reported that worker shortages and trade tensions held back what might have been even stronger numbers.
