ISU biorenewables center gets more money
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has expanded funding for the Engineering Research Center for Biorenewable Chemicals at Iowa State University.
The science foundation will give the center $12 million over the next three years. That brings total federal investment in the center up to $30.5 million over eight years.
The center aims to transform the industrial chemical industry from one based on petroleum to one based on biorenewable resources.
