The program hopes to provide high-level academics and career-ready experience for students interested in careers in high finance. Each year, 10 high-achieving freshman will be selected as Ivy Scholars through an application and interview process. Ivy Scholars will gain access to technical training on relevant industry tools, mentorship and coaching from Iowa State alumni in high finance careers and support to connect with internships. We plan on bringing students into the fold right away, giving select freshmen students additional training starting on day one through the Freshman Introductory Program. Most colleges make you wait until your second year for any sort of official guidance,” said Nick Greenwood, an investment banking analyst with Harris Williams and member of the initiative’s Alumni Advisory Council. The new program will be led by David Spalding, a Wall Street veteran, who is set to retire on June 30 from his position as dean of the college, and will subsequently act as the program director.
