Kum & Go LC donated $350,000 to the Des Moines Social Club for its capital campaign to renovate the downtown firehouse. The nonprofit arts organization is working on raising $3.5 million to purchase and renovate the former Des Moines fire station at Ninth and Mulberry Streets in downtown Des Moines. 

Other organizations to donate to the fund are: Principal Financial Group Inc., $300,000; The Fred and Charlotte Hubbell Foundation, $150,000; the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, $100,000; The Community Foundation Leadership Circle, $250,000.

The Des Moines Social Club hopes to have the renovation completed next year with full programming by 2014.
