LBS, an employee-owned company in Des Moines specializing in book binding and packaging, has acquired Pilgrim Packaging, a supplier to the floral industry. The transaction closed on July 15. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. LBS is investing in new equipment and qualifying additional materials for customers in the book and premium packaging markets as part of a broader initiative to expand its product portfolio and in-house converting capabilities. Pilgrim Packaging becomes the LBS’s third division alongside Archival Products, the company’s conservation-focused operation. Pilgrim will continue operations at its Huntley, Ill., location and its employees will join the LBS team. “Pilgrim’s reputation for ease of doing business, quality products, and dedicated customer care makes them a natural fit for us,” Dan Nibe, president and CEO of LBS, said in a prepared statement. “Together, we’re in a great position to support a broader range of needs across industries — without losing the personalized service that defines both of our organizations.”
