Registration is open for “The Power of Her” summit, an inaugural event that will bring to a close the 2018 series of the Leadership Education and Advancement Pipeline (LEAP) women’s leadership development program. 

The summit, hosted by the Downtown Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, will be held Oct. 4 at Principal, 711 High St. in Des Moines. The half-day event takes place from 1 to 5:15 p.m.

LEAP is designed to build a community that empowers and motivates women to position themselves for the next steps in their careers. The summit is an opportunity to network with other professional women in Des Moines and gain insights from influential female leaders.  

“The Power of Her” consists of two breakout sessions followed by keynote speaker Patti Wachtendorf, a warden at the Iowa State Penitentiary. Wachtendorf’s address is titled “The Leader In You.”

The summit is free to all LEAP series members. The cost for those wishing to attend only the summit is $50 for chamber members and $75 for nonmembers. Registration and a full summit schedule are available online.
