United Way of Central Iowa will host its annual Live United celebration on Monday, where it will reveal its community impact report and the progress that’s been made toward its strategic goals for 2020. The celebration is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and will be held virtually. Registration is free. The United Way of Central Iowa established the community goals for 2020 in 2008. They included objectives in health, education and financial stability. Those goals culminated at the end of 2020. During Monday’s celebration, United Way of Central Iowa will also review the work that’s been done to address community needs that have resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic, its focus on equity, and its new strategic focus, United to Thrive. The annual Live United awards will also be presented, including the Spirit of Central Iowa Award.
