Ames Tribune: A group of business leaders, educators and economic developers gathered in Boone Tuesday in a forum to discuss possibly the toughest issue businesses face statewide: access to workforce. The forum, was hosted by the Iowa Business Council at Boone’s DMACC campus. Fareway CEO Reynolds Cramer touted the Boone Community School District’s EDGE program. Boone High School Principal Kristopher Byam said the program has shown how collaboration between businesses and educators can benefit themselves and their students. “I can’t sit here and specifically talk about what businesses need, and businesses can’t say what education needs,” he said. “The only way you can facilitate that is if you bring them to the table and have a discussion around it.”
