Manus receives Public Engagement Award from ISU

Iowa State University’s Department of Economics has presented the Public Engagement Award to Shazia Manus, CEO of TMG, for her commitment to driving economic growth in the financial services industry. Manus earned an economic degree in 1998 from ISU after transferring from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh. During her career, Manus has actively engaged with her alma mater on multiple fronts. In 2009 she partnered with ISU and Tahira Hira, a member of the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Literacy, to organize a listening forum with statewide leaders gathering insights on how to advance financial education efforts. She has also served on the finance committee of the ISU Alumni Association, and participated in the Leadership in Action program for the ISU College of Business and the ISU College of Human Sciences Dean’s Advisory Council. During her five-year tenure with TMG in Clive, she has led record growth for the payments processor, which now services seven of the 13 largest credit unions in the United States. She is actively involved with a number of business and community service organizations in Central Iowa, including the boards of Mercy Medical Center and the Ames Public Library. She is also active with United Way of Story County Women with Initiative, Rotary Club of Ames, Iowa College Student Aid Commission and Ames Economic Development Commission.
