Insurance broker Marsh Inc. said today it would launch a policy to cover the cost of bribery investigations for companies, though the coverage does not extend to defending against actual criminal charges, Reuters reported. Marsh said the policy would be available to individuals and businesses to offset the cost of investigations under the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act or the United Kingdom’s Bribery Act. A Marsh executive said the product was particularly aimed at companies that have not been able to obtain the same kind of coverage as their executives have under directors’ and officers’ insurance.
