McGee goes to education department

Isaiah McGee, Gov. Terry Branstad’s failed nominee to head the Iowa Department of Human Rights, has accepted a position in the Iowa Department of Education, according to a news release from Branstad’s office. The Iowa Senate failed to confirm McGee’s nomination as head of human rights. Danielle Plogmann, currently an executive within the human rights department, has accepted the position of interim director, according to the news release. McGee will be an education program consultant for achievement gaps and student equity, the news release said.
