Mediacom reported approximately 340,000 customers were still affected Tuesday by service outages after Monday’s powerful storm. The company identified three major cuts to Mediacom’s fiber network in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and Vinton, which will also affect additional area communities connected through the middle mile fiber network, Mediacom said in a statement to customers. Mediacom advised that downed trees and power lines may delay repairs in areas as company technicians wait for power companies to repair damaged electrical lines before network repairs can begin.
