Community members are invited to give their input into the development of the 2040 vision plan for Central Iowa. According to a news release from Capital Crossroads, a three-hour workshop called “The Big Sort” will bring together a broad range of community members to discuss and prioritize trends in society, technology, environment and politics that could affect the region by 2040. Capital Crossroads has hired Next Generation Consulting to help develop the vision plan. There will be three opportunities to participate in the workshop:
Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at Valley Junction Activity Center.
Oct. 27 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Martin Luther King Park.
Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at Central Library.
Britney Applegate, Capital Crossroads director, said the community is invited to participate in any of the sessions to have a conversation about the community’s future. “This workshop will play a meaningful and critical role in creating a brighter future for our community while providing networking opportunities and community knowledge,” she said. A virtual option will be made available by contacting Applegate.
