Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines and Hy-Vee Inc. have opened a Mercy Quick Care Clinic at the Mills Civic Parkway Hy-Vee store at 555 S. 51st St. in West Des Moines. The new clinic is Mercy’s third Quick Care Clinic in Greater Des Moines and the first it has opened in collaboration with Hy-Vee. “We are excited to collaborate with Hy-Vee to expand health care services in West Des Moines as an extension of the missions of both organizations to promote healthier communities,” said Dr. Wael Haidar, chief physician executive at Mercy. There are no immediate plans for additional in-store Hy-Vee quick care clinics, but “that is something both partners have thought about,” Mercy spokesman Gregg Lagan said. The Hy-Vee clinic is staffed by nurse practitioners or physician assistants who see patients ages 18 months and older on a walk-in basis from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Mercy also operates quick care clinics at Price Chopper stores in Des Moines and Clive.
