Meredith expands food media business
Meredith Corp. today announced the acquisition of EatingWell Media Group, a multi-channel brand focused on healthful eating, as well as the launch of website Recipe.com, which will pair recipes with digital coupons.
More than 60 percent of EatingWell’s current revenues come from digital sources, licensing and custom marketing, and it has a magazine with a circulation of 350,000 that Meredith hopes to increase to 500,000 by next year.
Terms of the acquisition were not released. Recipe.com contains more than 20,000 recipes and features in-store and manufacturer savings coupons as well as how-to videos. Meredith will release a quarterly magazine to go with the product.
