Methodist, Blank Children’s trauma centers verified
Iowa Methodist Medical Center’s trauma center has been verified as a Level I Adult Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). In addition, Blank Children’s Hospital has been verified as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. The ACS verification program, conducted every three years, confirms that a trauma center has demonstrated its commitment to providing the highest quality care. Receiving care at a Level I trauma center for severe injuries lowers the risk of death by 25 percent, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
