MidAmerican announces Trees Please! grants
MidAmerican Energy Co. announced today that it is giving $229,000 to 81 cities and community organizations in its Iowa service territory to support energy efficiency and environmental beautification initiatives through the planting of trees. Each year, MidAmerican Energy provides funding as part of its Trees Please! program. The cities of Altoona, Carlisle, Clive, Johnston, Pleasant Hill, Polk City, Urbandale and Windsor Heights are among the Polk County communities that will receive awards of at least $1,000. The cities of Des Moines and West Des Moines each will receive $20,000.
