MidAmerican Energy Co. is partnering with Siemens Energy on a 407.1-megawatt wind project expansion in 2012. MidAmerican and Siemens entered into a turbine supply agreement for an additional 176 wind turbines to be installed at three sites in Iowa. Each turbine is capable of producing 2.3 megawatts of energy. Siemens will provide turbines for MidAmerican’s recently announced 103.5-megawatt Vienna wind project, expected to be located in Marshall and Tama counties; the 200.1 megawatt Eclipse project located in Guthrie and Audobon counties; and the 101.2-megawatt Morning Light wind project located in Adair County. Siemens will also provide one additional turbine to be installed at MidAmerican’s Rolling Hills wind project.
