Miller: Fund-raiser’s lies recorded by CPD
Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller will hold a news conference today to discuss a Consumer Protection Division (CPD) case involving an out-of-state for-profit fund-raiser. Miller alleges a Phoenix-based fund-raiser unwittingly called a recorded undercover CPD phone line and told a series of blatant lies to try to solicit funds. The news conference will take place at 11 a.m. on the second floor of the Hoover Building in Des Moines. Miller plans to play an audio recording of the phone call, which will be posted on the attorney general’s website.
