More than $3.7 million in tourism grants awarded to projects in 12 communities

The Enhance Iowa Board awarded more than $3.7 million to pool, library and park improvement projects in 12 communities on Friday. The Enhance Iowa program awards Community Attraction and Tourism grants for the construction of recreational, cultural, educational or entertainment facilities that enhance the quality of life in Iowa. Grants announced Friday included:

  • Estherville municipal swimming pool construction project – $250,000.
  • Holstein aquatic center construction project – $300,000.
  • New Marion Public Library building project – $450,000.
  • Chris Larsen Park Riverfront Development, phase 1, Sioux City – $400,000.
  • Tabor Library construction project – $186,877.
  • All Aboard! Capital Campaign for expansion of Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad depot, and track and locomotive restoration – $150,000.
  • Morgan Creek Park Development, phase 1, Palo – $350,000.
  • Madison County Conservation Center construction project, Winterset -$450,000.
  • The Principal Pavilion entertainment venue construction project, Mason City – $375,000.
  • Expand the Grand, phase 2, theater renovation project, Red Oak – $150,000.
  • Winnebago County Environmental Education Center construction project, Leland – $250,000.
  • Woodbine Regional Wellness Center construction project – $450,000.
