Most major D.M. employers say workers will return downtown — but not until fall for many
Des Moines Register: As coronavirus infection rates have moderated amid widening vaccinations in recent weeks, some downtown Des Moines workers have started to come back. Vehicle and foot traffic is slowly ticking up, and tourism, too, has begun to revive, with events and expos planned this spring and summer that will bring in hundreds, sometimes thousands, of people at a time. Eleven of the city’s 14 most prominent companies with downtown headquarters or offices told the Des Moines Register they have made plans for reopening. Still, some of the biggest employers indicate their offices will remain mostly empty at least through the height of summer.
