Joe Murphy, who has been assistant vice president at Iowa State University, will join the Greater Des Moines Partnership as senior vice president of government relations and public policy on Sept. 26. Murphy has worked in government relations at ISU since 2012 and has more than a decade of experience in the field. “Joe brings a high level of experience in working with state and federal government leaders,” Partnership CEO Jay Byers said in a statement. Murphy also had worked as public affairs director at agriculture company Summit Group, and for the University of Northern Iowa. He also managed a state political campaign.
