In an effort to connect candidates with positions at Central Iowa companies, the Des Moines chapter of the NAACP is hosting its second annual job fair to be held at Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s headquarters, 1331 Grand Ave., on Aug.  9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The fair, hosted by the NAACP’s Labor & Industry and Economic Development committees, is open to people of all races and nationalities. More than 40 companies are registered to attend the event. In addition to job opportunities, the fair features several workshops on topics such as resume and cover letter writing, job and career preparedness and mock interviews.
