NAMI Iowa receives $35,000 from Iowa Total Care

123 wordsAll Latest News, Health and Wellness, Nonprofits and PhilanthropyThe National Alliance on Mental Illness Iowa has received $35,000 from Iowa Total Care, a provider of Medicaid health care coverage in Iowa and a wholly owned subsidiary of Centene Corp. The grant will support NAMI Iowa’s signature events, including Beautiful Minds, part of the Mental Health Awareness Month event series each May, the NAMI Iowa Walk on Sept. 27 in Johnston and the statewide Annual Mental Health Conference on Nov. 21 in Des Moines. “NAMI Iowa supports more accessible behavioral health for all Iowans – because mental health is important,” Bryan Sanders, plan president and CEO of Iowa Total Care, said in a prepared statement. “Together, we can better connect individuals with the mental health support and resources they deserve.”
