Napolitano issues statement on bin Laden’s death
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano issued a statement today regarding the death of Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, who was killed on Sunday by U.S. forces in Pakistan. “We remain at a heightened state of vigilance, but the Department of Homeland Security does not intend to issue a (National Terrorism Advisory System) alert at this time,” Napolitano wrote. “However, our security posture, which always includes a number of measures both seen and unseen, will continue to respond appropriately to protect the American people from an evolving threat picture both in the coming days and beyond.”
