The original plans called for the project to be completed in November.

Workers are now finishing the interior of the 285,000-square-foot expansion of Nationwide’s Des Moines headquarters. When they’re done, employees of Nationwide, Nationwide Agribusiness and Allied Insurance will be relocated from leased space downtown and in West Des Moines.

The headquarters building opened in May 2003. A second Locust Street building now under construction is scheduled to be complete in December 2008. It will be a five-story, 350,000-square-foot structure containing 2,200 workspaces.
