NCMIC Finance Corp., a Des Moines-based payment processing company, has acquired Johnston-based Shazam’s merchant services business. According to a news release, NCMIC’s Professional Solutions Financial Services division is now responsible for Shazam’s merchant services portfolio, including financial institution clients. Shazam’s payment processing services will now be managed by NCMIC. A transition plan to minimize disruption has been implemented, the release said. The acquisition will allow NCMIC to offer expanded processing capabilities, stronger fraud prevention measures and a larger merchant acceptance network, the company said. “This acquisition represents a win for both our organizations and, most importantly, for our clients,” Tony Dickinson, president of NCMIC Finance Corp., said in a prepared statement. “We are excited to welcome Shazam’s merchant clients and processing team members into the Professional Solutions family, helping to not only maintain their portfolios but also grow them.”
