Two childhood friends who both became physicians have fulfilled their dream to open a clinic together. Dr. Amy Petersen and Dr. Tara Federly announced that Cornerstone Pediatrics and Family Allergy will celebrate its grand opening on Nov. 3. The clinic, located at 6800 Lake Drive, No. 260, in West Des Moines, offers general pediatric care and allergy/asthma care for children and adults. Petersen and Federly, who grew up together in Des Moines and have been best friends for over 35 years, knew from an early age they wanted to be physicians. The two Hoover High School graduates both studied pre-med at Luther College before starting their medical careers, and are now opening a clinic that combines their two specialties. Petersen, joined by Sherri Chrisman-Batterson, ARNP, will provide general pediatric care to infants, young children and adolescents, while Federly leads the allergy clinic. Guided tours of the new clinic will be available on Nov. 3 from 3 to 5 p.m.
