The shortfall exceeds GO Cedar Rapids’ annual $2 million budget. Board Chairman John Myers announced Tuesday that the board fired Aaron McCreight, who began as chief executive in May 2015. The three-day festival, which included headliners Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson, was predicted to sell 4,000 passes and an additional 11,000 tickets for the two music acts; in a statement, the board said the August festival’s ticket sales were far lower, and an internal review and audit will be commissioned on the event.
