128 wordsBusiness Record Insider, The Insider NotebookWhile up in Ames recently for a mostly serious interview, I heard a story from the lighter side of things. In 2012, on a weekend day, Iowa State University police descended on the ISU president’s office at Beardshear Hall, where an alarm indicated someone was messing with the usually locked side door. When they got there, they caught the man red-handed. Or maybe we should say cardinal-handed. The intruder was newly hired President Steven Leath. He didn’t realize that door was generally locked and protected by an alarm when he went to enter that way for a little weekend catch-up work. (Note to readers: Insert joke about CYber security here …). You can read the full interview with Leath in last week’s Business Record at http://bit.ly/2gFmUtl.
