149 wordsBusiness Record Insider, The Insider NotebookI commented on the 10 plants that beautify the space of Tero President Rowena Crosbie on a recent visit there to the offices and training space.
“Their placement is very intentional,” Crosbie explained by email after I inquired further. “Research shows that live plants not only add visual interest, their presence contributes to a better learning and thinking environment.”
Crosbie was kind enough to dig out the research and shared how NASA scientists had found plants allow for better learning and thinking. The research said scientists found the plants can raise oxygen levels and increase productivity. Even one plant can make a big difference in a small space, it seems.
The information Crosbie shared listed the following plants as being good candidates: ficus benjamina, philodendrons, dracena deremensis, peace lilies, bamboo palms, yellow chrysanthemums and gerbera daisies.
It may be time to invest in some greenery for my newsroom desk.
