Lawrence Cunningham, general manager of the Iowa State Daily Media Group, said in a statement that the opportunity will give students experience in a medium they can’t get in traditional classroom projects.
The media group works to give students work experience in media, graphic design, photography and videography.
KHOI is a noncommercial community-based radio station that features local programming in the arts, music, news and public affairs, and offers Central Iowans personal access to mass media as radio show guests, hosts or technical broadcast operators. The audio lab is a new audio production training effort.
Twenty students will take part in the 10-week class this spring. The reports will be offered on podcasts and at KHOI 89.1 FM and KHOIFM.org.
