The Philadelphia Eagles’ front office is an outlier in athletics, which is largely dominated by men – four women are part of the senior leadership team. The team said it looked at candidates outside of sports because it was foolish to look within a century-old industry with “backward hiring practices.” While we don’t have an NFL team in Des Moines, the concept applies to many local businesses.
