NPR: DowDuPont merger faces regulatory hurdles

National Public Radio reports that DuPont Co. and Dow Chemical Co. don’t expect many problems with antitrust regulators over their proposed $130 billion merger and eventual spinoff into three companies. DuPont CEO Edward Breen said he expected only “very limited” actions involving overlapping products. An analyst agreed that the competing products will be the main focus of the regulatory review. The agriculture area will draw particular interest due to the massive consolidations in that industry, another analyst said. Listen to the story online.
