OPN Architects Inc. plans to open an office in Iowa City mid-2016, marking its second expansion in two years. OPN opened its first office in Marion in 1979. The architecture firm moved to Cedar Rapids in the 1980s, opened an office in Des Moines in 2003 and in 2014 moved to Madison, Wis. The Iowa City office will be led by Justin Bishop, (pictured) an Iowa State University graduate who has been with the firm for 11 years and recently was named an associate principal. His recent work includes the Johnson County Emergency Services Facility and the University of Iowa’s Hancher Auditorium. He recently earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Iowa’s Henry B. Tippie College of Business.
