Partnership enters license arrangement with Tallo talent platform
The Greater Des Moines Partnership has entered into a license arrangement with Tallo, an online career platform designed to connect teen students and adult learners with higher education institutions and businesses that match their interests. Greater Des Moines is the first economic development region in the nation to license with the Tallo connection platform, Partnership officials said. The license covers the cost for all K-12 school districts in the Partnership’s region to make the system available to their students. The partnership with Tallo also provides incentives for Des Moines companies and colleges that want to engage with the talent on the Tallo platform. “Colleges have recruited athletes from a young age for years, and Tallo provides a similar opportunity for colleges and employers to recruit potential talent,” said Mary Bontrager, executive vice president of talent development with the Partnership. “This will help connect our employers to students and adults in the workplace here in Iowa and across the country, and give students a leg up on planning for their future.” The online platform, founded in 2013, has about 780,000 users nationwide with more than 23,000 high schools participating, according to Tallo’s website. Organizations interested in learning more about how to sign up through the Partnership should contact Bontrager by email at mbontrager@DSMpartnership.com.
