The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Inclusion Summit is scheduled for Nov. 10 and will focus on “Equity in Action.” According to a news release, participants will learn more about what equity means and discover tools to build equity-centered practices, systems and organizations. “The Inclusion Summit is a great time to hear about some best practices from nationally acclaimed speakers, celebrate our progress on our diversity, equity and inclusion journey while becoming energized and inspired to continue the journey,” said Sanjita Pradhan, director of diversity and inclusion at the Greater Des Moines Partnership. Keynote speakers for the summit include James Wright, who gives presentations nationwide and has developed diversity and inclusion programs that have received national recognition; Kerrien Suarez, executive director of Equity in the Center, an initiative to influence social sector leaders to shift mindsets, practices and systems; and Kenji Yoshino, a Chief Justice Earl Warren professor of constitutional law at New York University School of Law and the director of the Center for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Registration is now open. The summit is scheduled to take place at the FFA Enrichment Center at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny. A virtual option will also be available. The Partnership’s inclusion awards will be announced at the summit.
