Jalatama Omar has been hired by the cityof Pleasant Hill as an economic development specialist, the city announced. Omar will assist the city in planning, executing and communicating Pleasant Hill’s economic development strategy, according to a news release. Also in the newly created position, Omar will be responsible for implementing a business retention and expansion program along with investment recruitment for the growing community of Pleasant Hill. Omar has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration, both from the University of South Dakota. He most recently worked as a management analyst for the city of Davenport. His annual salary with Pleasant Hill is $79,106.
