Poam Logan, who has led Metro Arts since late 2008, said she has enjoyed working with the board, staff and volunteers to enhance the quality of life in Central Iowa and is confident she is leaving the organization in good hands.
“I will look back with great pride at the many milestones we have achieved over the last seven years, including the 40th anniversary celebration, the launch of the annual AWE awards and the installation of a commemorative public art piece at the Des Moines airport,” Poam Logan said. “Metro Arts is poised for continued growth with many exciting projects underway, and I look forward to watching the organization reach new heights in the years to come.”
Poam Logan said she has no immediate plans, but after years of being at the helm of a busy nonprofit, she is ready for a career change.
Rick Ballinger, president of the board of directors of Metro Arts, told supporters in a letter that the search is underway for a director who will continue the organization’s mission of ensuring that access to rewarding and enriching art is available in everyday life.
“We are grateful to Kim for her productive guidance and for all that we have accomplished under her watch,” Ballinger said. “While we will miss Kim, we are also excited at the opportunity to continue growing under new leadership.”
